1834 document providing for the rental of a slave girl named Jane. Dated December 31, 1834, Dudley Hammonds and Manning Skinner promise to pay Lemuel Sledge $96.50 "for the hire of Negro girl Jane" she to be provided with "two summer suits of cloths & one winter suit, Hat blanket shoes & stockings". No place mentioned but this document came with a collection of other slave papers from Alabama.
